This AV to DVB-T/C modulator is a digital modulator which will convert a composite video and analogue stereo input into a Freeview channel for viewing on a TV with Freeview capability. The input can be a CCTV system, a camera, satellite receiver, DVD player or any source having a composite video output.
Any Freeview TV is capable of decoding this signal as it is transmitted in MPEG2, suitable for standard and HD Freeview TVs.
The output from this device can be distributed using an existing TV aerial distribution system or it can be used in a point to point set up.
This device can be set up using the menu system accessed by the built in LCD display and navigation buttons on the front panel. There are a wide range of settings covering image parameters such as bit rate, brightness, contrast, saturation and aspect ratio, audio bit rate, program name, bandwidth, error correction rate etc. See the instruction manual under the documents tab for full details.
The modulator is set to channel 43 by default. To make sure you do not get interference, check the Freeview coverage for your area using https://ukfree.tv/prediction and typing in your postcode. Then select the "TV Full Details" option at the top of the results page to see the channels in use in your area. The channel to use on your modulator should not be the same as any of those listed in your area. If Channel 43 is listed, simply select a different channel number and "Save" as described in the user manual.
If you are distributing Sky, this modulator can be used with Sky Magic Eye by using a Triax Tri Link or similar.
