Cat6A is Easy with the EXO Crimp Tool

Introducing the EXO Crimp Tool for Cat6A Networks

cat6a connector with conductors through

The ezEX-RJ45 termination system has all the benefits of the EZ RJ45 system and more. The EXO crimp tool has interchangeable dies to suit a range of cable types and connectors. The EXO die handles connectors for Cat6A cables which are generally much larger overall than Cat5e/6 cables and have larger inner conductors.

In the same way as with the EZ RJ45 system, the inner conductors pass all the way through the connectors, so the colour sequence can be checked before the connector is crimped, saving time and money and preventing wasted terminations.

Digital Modulator uses Freeview Channel

Edision Digital Modulator for HDMI

This digital modulator makes it easy to distribute HDMI from a local source such as Sky or Blu-Ray to multiple screens. By converting the HDMI input to a Freeview channel, it is possible to use existing aerial distribution systems to send the HD input to any Freeview TV* within the system.

Connect the digital modulator to the source and your TV, then re-tune your TV to find the new Freeview channel. Once found, you can choose which programme number to use, then select your HDMI source in high definition as if it was just another freeview channel.

HDMI Wireless Extender 200m

HDMI Wireless Extender Over 200m with IR

This HDMI wireless extender can solve your installation problems. Sometimes, there are just not enough wires in the wall to do the job. Perhaps it is necessary to install an additional HDMI display in a new location which had not been considered during the design stage. In an existing installation there may be no access to install additional cabling. You might need a temporary solution which does not warrant the time and expense of laying cables; a solution that you can re-use at the next event, perhaps, or move between venues?

The use of Brush Faceplates

Brush Faceplates in AV Installations

Brush faceplates are an ideal way of allowing cables to pass through walls and emerge behind TVs and other equipment while keeping the are neat and tidy.

white brush faceplate

Our brush faceplates are available in sizes to match standard electrical back boxes. While an electrical back box is not absolutely essential, it allows the use of standard screws and provides a secure fixing point for cables at the first fix stage. When the installation is ready for the second fix, the brush faceplate can simply be screwed on using standard electrical screws provided.

The standard sizes for brush faceplates are single gang and double gang, referring to the number of electrical outlets that could be fitted to the back box. So a single gang back box is suitable for a single gang electrical socket and a double gang is suitable for a twin electrical socket.

Using EZ RJ45 Connectors with PoE

Some RJ45 ports are a tight fit and the end of the connector can be pushed hard against the back of the port. In most instances this is not a problem, but because of the way the EZ RJ45 system works, it is possible that this can physically affect conductor spacing causing shorting with PoE and possible RFI/EMI issues.

Our recommendation in these circumstances is to slightly modify the way the connector is crimped. Prepare the conductors as usual, insert the conductors into the connector and push home as far as possible in the normal way. Ensure that there is plenty of jacket inserted. Then, using a good side cutter, (our part number 450128, for instance) trim the conductors flush with the connector. Pull back the conductors very slightly so that the ends are concealed within the connector, then crimp as normal with the crimp tool.
